European School River Water Art Competition

We are delighted to announce that our school has been awarded 2nd prize in a pan Europe art competition to create a poster on 'what water means to you'.

The artwork of three children has been selected and has been published by the European Commission in a book "The Urban Water Atlas for Europe".  The competition took place in February 2016 when our winners were in Year 2.  It was open to 2 schools within cities participating in the BlueSCities Horizon 2020 project.  The children learned about the importance of water in their lives and then were invited to draw what water represents for him/her.See the artwork below and congratulations to the winners, Melike, William and Zachary. 

Talking about hearing of their success the children said: "I was suprised!" "I looked and saw it was mine, I was so excited!" "I was happy...I was in shock!"
