Count on us Primary Challenge

Three children from Baring represented our school at the Count On Us Primary Challenge maths tournament.  They were Evan (Yr4), Ashvini and Oriya (Yr5).  We are delighted to be able to report that they have reached the finals.  We are extremely proud of them!!!  Out of the 115 schools that took part only 16 have made it through to the final and as we are a small one form entry school this is even more incredible.  We began entering this competition last year and have reached the finals both times.  Val Johnson, the Director of the tournament commended Baring’s children for their ‘excellent team work’.

Children from Years 4 and 5 have been giving up their Monday lunchtimes for the last 2 years attending a maths club and preparing for the tournament.  Mrs. Patterson wants to say a great big thank you to all those children who have come to maths club so regularly and worked so hard.  She would have taken them all to the tournament if she had been allowed.  Well done to everyone and we can not wait to see how Ashvini, Evan and Oriya do when they represent us in the finals.
