Welcome back to the second half of the Autumn Term, I hope you all had a restful week.

We are going to be learning more of our phonics sounds, so look out for some practise activities to complete at home.

We are also going to start sending reading books home for some of the children.  Here is some useful advice on reading at home:

We have started to learn some of our phonics sounds and will start in earnest after half-term.  If you want to help your child get started, please log-on to Phonics Play and play some phase 1 games that are free -

We have also been watching Numberblocks and practising our counting up from 1-20 and down from 20-1.  Counting objects with your child and one more and one less is a great way to get them familiar with number (for example, how many grapes do we have?  What about if I eat one, how many now?).

Week beginning 28th September

We have been having lots of fun learning in Polar Bear class in our first few weeks!

We have been reading a lovely book, called 'Here We Are,' by Oliver Jeffers.  We have been thinking about our planet and using Google Earth in class.  Click on the image to discover an audio recording of the book.

We are getting to know all the areas in the classroom and in the outside area.  The children are becoming more independent when they come into the class and there are some lovely friendships developing and fantastic learning from all the children!  On Friday we have our first PE lesson, so please send your child in with their PE kit on and they can stay in it all day.

We are really looking forward to welcoming you into Polar Bear Class this week!

You can watch this video to see some of the things that you might do when you come to school.

Mr Hollis and Mrs Kemp are really looking forward to meeting you all!
