Physical Education
Baring School has very active sports and Physical Education participation. We have rejoined the Lewisham School Games Partnership this year, taking part in inter-school sport. We love our sport!
In October 2024 we were awarded the ‘Blackheath Tag Rugby award for sporting achievement’. Our football teams are particularly successful - we came runners-up in the boys' league and our girls' team greatly improved. We regularly take part in team competitions in a variety of sports.
We have weekly professional sports coaches teaching class lessons in a rolling programme; in hockey, tennis, football, swimming, dance, tag rugby and cricket. Staff are present during the coached lessons and use this as a professional development opportunity. We also have a wide range of before and after school clubs, for example, boys’ football, girls’ football, and hockey.
Our Early Years children have a large area of garden in which to improve their physical development which includes climbing and running space. They use the main school large playground area daily for developing skills using wheeled toys such as scooters, trikes and balance bikes.
